Cheating is all about eating a chocolate and then straight after that, you run to the kitchen and drink a weight loss herbal tea. Not really, but there are ways to kick-start your body to get rid of fat.

I really want to eat only salads – all the time. But I am honest, I can only eat a plate of asparagus, while my family eat pizza, for that long. I want to treat myself – and so do you. That’s why we need to know how to cheat to be skinny.

Ways to cheat to be skinny

It is no secret, but I’ve come to learn about a few things that will boost your metabolism, satisfy your cravings without a calorie overdose and practical ways to create habits that will ensure a skinny body. Let me share them with you.

Cheat No.1

What veggies do you like? Weight loss is all about how much veggies you can consume instead of burgers and sweets. Why? Veggies are low in calories but full of fiber (keeps you full). Not only that, it is filled with vitamins and minerals that keeps your cells healthy to shed the fat. Try different ways to fall in love with them. You won’t regret it.

My veggies love affair that keeps me going

“I love roast veggies and salads. In the beginning of the week I buy aubergine, sweet potato, courgettes, fennel, red onion and butternut. I roast the sweet potato and butternut separately with cinnamon. Then I roast the aubergine, courgettes, fennel and red onions. I keep these roasted veggies in the fridge and whenever I am hungry, I simply take a handful of salad leaves, top it with roasted veggies and any nuts or seeds of my choice.”

Cheat No.2

Always think detox. You may not consume a lot of calories, but if the food is unhealthy (fried foods, refined sugars or flours), you do not build healthy cells. Also, fat is stores in toxins. If you detox, those toxins are released and your fat melts off.

Detox fastracks

1. Exercise.

Try to exercise about 30 minute a day. The best exercise options for weight loss is weight training and cardio. Muscles are active tissue that needs to restore themselves throughout the day. When you exercise and convert your fat into muscles, you will burn calories even while doing nothing.

2. Set aside a specific time for a “detox period”.

Use one day during the week or a weekend during the month that you set aside to detox. I love to use a Wednesday to simply focus on restoring my body and eating loads of green foods and juices. A weekend cleanse is also a great way to rejuvenate your body.

3. Eat green food.

Green foods make your body alkaline and speed up the weight loss process like nothing else. Put spinach in your smoothie or mix peas with your mash – it doesn’t matter what you do, just eat as much as you can!

4. Buy a good detox book that will keep you motivated.

Sometimes we need that little extra to keep us focussed. I find that reading a book about the topic really inspires me and helps me to keep focussed on my goal.

5. Drink clean water.

Drink 1 glass of water 30 minutes before you eat. It is said that it is the most effective and affordable weight loss tip available.

Know what to eat. Yes, this is a weight loss food cheat sheet. These foods literally kick start your metabolism and help your body to be in the best possible spot to lose weight.
