Nothing beats a good homemade hummus. I like the roasted turmeric chickpeas on top. It gives a bit of texture and is delicious. Homemade hummus is a lot healthier than store brought ones, and you will definitely save some money. Hummus can also be frozen if you don't want to eat it all. Chickpeas are a great source of protein, carbohydrates and fibre and will keep you full for longer. I always have a few tins in my house for a quick snack.

Ingredients
- Turmeric-roasted chickpeas
- 400 g chickpeas (1 can, drained)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 green chilli chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric
- salt and pepper to taste
- Hummus
- 400 g chickpeas (1 can, drained)
- 1-2 lemons juiced
- 1 green chilli chopped
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
Turmeric-roasted chickpeas
- Toss all the ingredients together for the turmeric-roasted chickpeas and roast at 190 C for 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly
Hummus
- Blend all the hummus ingredients together.
